HOW LARGE IS A ROLL OF SOD?
Our sod comes in rolls of 9 square feet, 16 inches by 82 inches.
HOW DO I DETERMINE HOW MUCH SOD I NEED?
To determine the quantity of rolls needed, multiply the length by the width of the working area in feet, and then divide that total by 9. It is safe to add another 10% to that number just in case you need extra.
WHAT IS YOUR SERVICE AREA?
Our service area is Barrie, Collingwood, Orangeville, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Newmarket and the surrounding regions.
HOW IS SOD DELIVERED?
It is delivered on a pallet which is placed by our truck-mounted forklift. A pallet deposit is charged, which is refunded upon return.
WHAT KIND OF GRASS IS YOUR SOD?
We produce sod from a blend of Kentucky bluegrasses that are suited for the climate of Ontario.
Lay sod as soon as possible; do
not wait. Water immediately afterwards, especially on hot, sunny days.
DOES KBG THRIVE IN FULL SUN OR SHADE?
Kentucky bluegrass thrives in full sun and mild shade, adapting well to most environmental factors. However, one should always check with a professional who understands the grass for more information about this topic.
WHAT’S THE BEST TIME TO PLANT KBG?
Kentucky bluegrass germination’s ideal soil temperature range is between 50°F and 65°F. This usually equates to daytime air temperatures between 60°F and 75°F.
WILL KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS CHOKE OUT WEEDS?
As it develops thicker and thicker, it gets much tougher for weeds and weed seeds to take root. However, it cannot choke out weeds that are already growing.
WHAT KIND OF SOIL IS BEST FOR KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS?
Kentucky bluegrass thrives in soils that are well-drained, fertile, wet and have a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Although it may tolerate light shade, it thrives in direct sunlight. It does not function effectively in shallow, compacted soils or environments with extreme pH levels.
DOES IT REQUIRE A LOT OF MAINTENANCE?
Maintenance is essential for this grass to look its best, but the benefits can be worthwhile.
This grass creates a dense, rich, long-lasting lawn that lives up to its reputation when provided with its optimal growing circumstances and the necessary maintenance. Kentucky bluegrass doesn’t accomplish this on its own, though.
